Q1. Please introduce yourself.

I came to Japan from China. The reason I decided to study abroad was because I wanted to study urban development.I first studied Japanese at a Japanese language school in Yokohama, and then entered Hirosaki University.I chose Hirosaki University for two reasons.First, there are many famous teachers in this school. The second reason is that I like photography and I thought the scenery in Aomori was very beautiful.

Q2.What kind of work do you do at your workplace?

I work as a community revitalization cooperation team in Oma Town.My main work includes translating tourism pamphlets, disseminating information on tourism SNS, planning events, managing tourism websites, producing inbound tourism guides, and interpreting. In recent years, thanks to direct flights between Aomori and Taiwan, the number of tourists from Taiwan has increased.Against this background, I would like to attract tourists from Taiwan and China to Oma, the northernmost town in Honshu.

Q3.How do you use what you studied at university in your current work?

Since I studied community development when I was in graduate school, I am always thinking about how to revitalize the aging town of Oma.In order to revitalize this town, I would like to focus on tourism from now on.And through tourism, I would like to collaborate with other industries to create a city where everyone can live comfortably and where young people can easily make a U-turn.

Q4.What were the good things about working in Japan, and what were the hardships?

I've never had a hard time.I chose to work in a small town, so the residents were very simple, and the people around me looked after me very well. There was nothing like the bullying that often appears in Japanese dramas. The good thing about working in Japan is that while studying Japanese, you can truly blend into Japanese society and feel Japanese culture.

Q5.Please give a message to international students who want to work in Japan!

If you want to work in Japan, it is important to learn the basics of job hunting in Japan, such as rules and schedules unique to Japan, as early as possible. And I think that Japanese ability is indispensable. As a basic recruiting condition for Japanese companies, a level of Japanese ability that can be used for business is required. It is also important not to narrow down the industry too much.As long as you don't dislike it, try as many industries as possible.Believe in yourself and good luck with your job!
