Application and Cancellation procedures
Contact the closest service center of Tohoku Denryoku (Tohoku Electric Power Co.,Inc) by phone, and a service person will come to your residence.
Payment
The electric power company calculates your monthly fee by checking your meter. There are three methods of payment.
EPay at a bank or post office counter by transfer payment (furikomi)
EPay the bill collector
EUse your bank/post office’s automatic transfer system
Automatic transfer systems can be used for gas, water, telephone, NHK subscription fees and taxes for local governments as well. Ask a teller at your branch for details.
Cancelling or Transferring
Call the electric power company at least one week prior to vacating your house and pay the bills that are due.
GAS
City Gas
Application and Cancellation Procedures
Fill out an application for initial connection by contacting your area service center. You can also apply for installation by telephone. Give your customer number, name, address and phone residence. You must be home when the service person is connecting the gas operation system. Also, make sure to contact your gas company when you want to cancel. At that time, a service person will come to your residence, and you can pay the remainder of your final bill.
LP Gas
EContact the dealer/gas company whose name you find on the tag hanging from the meter. Both the opening and closing of accounts can be done over the phone.
EYour gas company checks the meter and charges you monthly.
ELP Gas appliances are standardized all over Japan, whereas appliances compatible with City Gas are not. Make sure to have a service person check whether your appliances are appropriate or not before you use them.

Water supply
Application and Cancellation Procedures
Go to or phone the waterworks section at City Office to report the change of user’s name. Note that some government offices charge you at the time of application. In some cases, your landlord or superintendent will conduct the above procedure.
Payment
Water usage is charged monthly. A collector can come to your door, or you can use a bank/post office’s automatic transfer system.
