1.Purpose of Establishment

The Hirosaki University International House is established to provide foreign students and researchers with accommodations and facilities to promote and contribute to international exchange in the fields of education and research at the University.

2.Management

The International House is managed by Hirosaki University.
The Director of Hirosaki University is responsible for the management.
Support Office is responsible for the administrative procedure.

4.Eligibility

1)Privatery-funded international students who have recently arrived or are arriving from their country to study at Hirosaki University.
2)Overseas researchers who are or will be engaged in research work at Hirosaki University.
3)Persons approved by the House Director.

5.Necessary Procedures and Forms

International Students:
– “Application for Admission”, available at the Support Office.
– A copy of “Certificate of Eligibility”, obtained from the Immigration Office.

Submit the forms to the Support Office and advise the section of your arrival date if you are applying from abroad.

Overseas Researchers:
– “Application for Admission”
– a copy of “Letter of Reason for Invitation” or “Letter of Acceptance”

Submit the form to your faculty’s general office (Soumu).

6.Room Fee and Number of Rooms Available

7. Equipment and Furniture

Each room has a kitchen and bathroom with toilet. In addition, furniture and electrical appliances, such as a bed(s), desk, desk lamp, bookcase and vacuum cleaner are provided.

Only couple/family rooms are equipped with a washing machine. Single room occupants can use the common laundry room located on the first floor of Building A in the House. Please be advised that you need to have your own bedding.
