Voices of people who have studied abroad

Satomi Takahashi, XNUMXnd year, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences

[Study abroad destination] Kyungpook National University (Korea), [Study abroad period] August XNUMX to August XNUMX, XNUMX (XNUMX weeks)

Q.What is your motivation for studying abroad?

It was because my Korean teacher recommended it, and because I wanted to put into practice the Korean I learned in class.

Q.How are classes and life in the country?

I learned Korean language and Korean culture. The teacher in charge of the Korean class could not speak Japanese, but he used gestures, so I had to imagine what he was saying during the class.I don't think you can experience that kind of thing in Japan, and I learned a lot about conveying things through gestures and moods.

The university campus is very large, and there are plenty of shops such as cosmetics shops and restaurants outside the university, which is a little different from Hirosaki University. In my free time, I went out to eat with my classmates and went sightseeing in the city.I also interacted with a Korean buddy.

Q.What left an impression on you?

When I went to Seoul, I borrowed a hanbok and took a lot of pictures while walking around Gyeongbokgung Palace.I went to a cafe in that outfit and was able to feel a little bit of the atmosphere of the past and the present.

Q.short message

You won't lose anything by going there, and I think it will be an opportunity to interact with Koreans. Also, many students from other Japanese universities are participating, so you may have a good meeting.I think that studying abroad will be more fun than I imagined.
