Please tell me the name of the class you are currently taking and the content of the class.

I am currently taking four classes at the university where I am studying abroad. All the classes I take are taught in English.

  1. Korean Language 1: In this class, you will learn basic greetings and simple conversations in Korean through group work.
  2. Film and Architecture: In this class, students watch movies brought by the teacher during class and learn about the filming techniques and architecture that appear in the movies. In the end, each student will create a short film and present it to the class.
  3. International Relations in East Asia: This class is a class in which each student decides on a theme about issues currently occurring in East Asia, such as issues between China and Taiwan, and issues between South Korea and Japan, creates a PowerPoint, makes a presentation, and discusses it with everyone. is.
  4. Introduction to East Asian Studies: In this class, you will learn how South Korea, China, and Japan developed economically, and what problems they currently face.Personally, this class was the most difficult for me as I learned about each country's history and parliament from a wide range of perspectives.

Since all the classes are specialized fields, there are many words that are not used in everyday conversation, and it was difficult at first, but if I did my homework and review, I was able to keep up.However, when I had a discussion, I couldn't look up words that I didn't understand, so I felt frustrated when I couldn't convey what I wanted to say with my own vocabulary.

How much are textbooks and other materials?

I took four classes, but only one required a textbook. The textbook was also very cheap at 4₩ (about 6000 yen).

In other classes, the teacher will upload the resume and materials in PDF to the university app by the day before the class, so I copied it and brought it before the class. With this method, I can prepare for lessons, and if I miss a class, I can get my resume immediately, so I felt that it was a very good system.

Apart from classes, I participate in Korean language activities that are conducted by student volunteers, and it is an activity in which local students teach Korean to international students. This activity requires a textbook, and the textbook cost about 1600₩ (1600 yen). However, apart from the cost of textbooks, there are cultural activities such as making friends with local students and cooking Korean food together for free, so if you are thinking of studying abroad at this university, please join us.
