[International student interview vol.4] Sappkonkran Pitchaya (Thailand: Thammasat University)

The 4th interview with international students.
We interviewed an exchange student from Thammasat University, Thailand, who came to Hong Kong for a year from September 1.
What kind of form did studying abroad take for her who loves her friends and loves Japan?

Please introduce yourself

Sapp Conchran Pitchaya.Nickname is Peach. Please call me Peach!
I am 22 years old, and I am a 4th year student in the Japanese language department of the Faculty of Liberal Arts, Thammasat University, Thailand. Her major is Japanese.
I plan to study abroad for one year from September 1 to August XNUMX.

Anime inspired me to learn Japanese

When did you learn Japanese?

When I was in high school, I was majoring in science, but in my second year of high school, I started watching a lot of Japanese anime, fantasy anime such as Conan and Doraemon.I never really liked studying science.More than that, I wanted to speak and learn Japanese, so I majored in Japanese at university. Her mother wanted her to be a doctor...

At Thammasat University, we have both Japanese and Thai teachers, and we have to master hiragana and katakana in the first week. It's so hard!

What made you decide to study in Hongdae?

Studying abroad is not an absolute requirement, but since I am studying Japanese, I want to live in Japan and learn about life in Japan! It was the beginning that I thought. At first, I wanted to study abroad at another university, but I couldn't go because there were so many applicants.
So which of the other universities that offer exchange programs is the best?I decided to come to Hirosaki University because I was able to find out from the website that there are plenty of lectures for international students, that credits are recognized, and that the International House is cheap.Hall prices are cheap.

Always with my friends.

What is your impression of Hirosaki?

I thought that there were few people in Hirosaki. (laughs) Tokyo is busier, and Hirosaki is quieter. Also, although the price was cheap, there were many things I needed. In winter like now, I have to buy knitwear and heaters, because even in Thailand it's XNUMX degrees Celsius, so I don't wear sweaters...

In Hirosaki, I always enjoy being with my friends.I also go shopping with my friends and often go to Second Street.
NowadaysSaishoin Five-storied Pagodawent to!I would like to travel to Aomori City and Iwate.

I love ramen, but I haven't been able to find a good one in Hirosaki.Do you have any recommendations~

First snow!

Have you ever had a hard time in Hirosaki?

There is a lot of snow.I saw snow for the first time~ The road to the International House (International House) is on a slope, so it's a little hard to go up because it's cold now.

Fashionable shops are far away, there are no fashionable clothing stores near the university...
Above all, there are few deliveries! In Thailand, you can deliver anything with UberEats*.So now I make rice at home, I also make Thai curry.

UberEats An online delivery service that started in the United States in 2014.You can order food delivery from compatible restaurants using a mobile app.

What kind of place is Thailand? What is Thammasat University like?

First of all, Thailand is cheap. In Thailand, you can't drink tap water as it is, so you buy it. You can buy a 500ml bottle of water for about 1 yen, and you can eat lunch at the school cafeteria for about 30 yen. There is also a cafe on campus.
(Based on Rangsit campus)

The temperature is 25°C in summer and over 35°C in summer. When it's hot in the summer, everyone goes to the nearby department store [Future Park] to cool off.It takes 20 minutes by bus from the university to the department store.

Our classrooms are air-conditioned!

There is a student town in front of the university, and there are many cafeterias, restaurants, boarding houses, etc., so you won't have any trouble living here. There is also a Japanese restaurant.

Thai cuisine is famous for green curry, gapao rice, tom yum goong, and khao pad.
Motorbike taxi Motasai is convenient for transportation.

Study Abroad Expands Your Circle

One last word!

The best thing about studying abroad was that I was able to make foreign friends and Japanese friends.
Since I'm in Hirosaki, I want to improve my Japanese, and I want to speak more Japanese.I want to get along better with the Japanese people. Please feel free to talk to me if you see me!
