Japan-Asia Youth Exchange Program in Science (Sakura Science Plan)

 From August 30 to 8, 21, as part of the Japan-Asia Youth Science Exchange Program (Sakura Science Plan) of the Japan Science and Technology Agency, Pakistan Meteorological Agency of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and Khulna of the People's Republic of Bangladesh A total of 8 people were invited from the Institute of Technology, Cochin University of the Republic of India, the Ministry of Geochemistry, the Indian Tropical Meteorological Institute, Tribhuvan University of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, and the Nepal Meteorological Department for a 30-day program.
 During the program period, a workshop was held to learn how to create Asian daily precipitation grid data (APHRODITE) under the guidance of Professor Yatagai of the Department of Meteorology, Graduate School of Science and Engineering. There was a lively exchange of opinions and research exchanges with the students of the department.
 Through this project, the invited students were able to learn advanced meteorological technology, and the students who participated in the exchange program were able to learn about meteorological observations and major precipitation phenomena in Asian countries. It was a very meaningful and fulfilling program.
We look forward to further development of research exchanges in the future.
