I would like to ask about long vacations.
What did you do (or do you plan to do) during the long vacation?
I think that each person uses their long vacations differently, but I think that many people travel to faraway places during the semester.Not only in the United States, some people go to South American countries, and some even go to Europe.In my case, I like nature, so I plan to spend my winter and summer vacations visiting national parks in the United States.
・Winter vacation (mid-December to mid-January)
I had a winter vacation for about a month, and during that time I traveled to San Francisco and Seattle with my friends.I stayed in San Francisco and Seattle for about a week. In San Francisco, I visited the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz Island.
・Spring vacation (late March to early April)
The spring break of American universities is about 10 days, which is very short compared to Japan, but I plan to travel to New York, Yosemite National Park (California), and Yellowstone National Park (Wyoming).These are world-famous tourist destinations, and Yellowstone National Park is the first World Heritage Site, so I'm looking forward to going there now.
・Summer vacation (mid-May to late August)
The summer vacation at American universities lasts about three and a half months.I plan to return to Japan from the United States in early June, so I only have about two weeks, but I plan to use these two weeks to travel with friends to Grand Canyon National Park (Arizona), Antelope Canyon (Arizona), Zion National Park (Utah), and Las Vegas (Nevada).I am really looking forward to going to these places because the nature in America is so magnificent.
Where did you stay (will you stay) during your long vacation?
I stayed in the apartment even during long vacations, except when I was traveling.However, during long vacations, many international students travel and Americans return to their parents' homes.Therefore, it is recommended to travel with friends during long vacations.Also, some of my Japanese friends came to America with their families during the winter vacation and traveled with them, and some even went back to Japan temporarily.
