Japan-Asia Youth Exchange Program in Science (Sakura Science Plan)

From September 30th to 9rd, 14, as part of the Japan-Asia Youth Exchange Program in Science (Sakura Science Plan) of the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST), we visited Chiang Mai, which is our partner school in the Kingdom of Thailand. A total of 9 excellent graduate students were invited from the university and Khon Kaen University, and a 23-day program was conducted.

During the program period, Associate Professor Miyamoto of Hirosaki University Graduate School of Science and Engineering and Professor Nakagawa of the Graduate School of Health Sciences, a cooperating faculty member, will discuss the generation of reactive oxygen species by dye-based antioxidants using the X-band and Q-band ESR methods. A research exchange on capture was carried out, and a lively exchange of opinions was held with faculty members and students of the university. In between research exchanges, they visited historical temples in Hirosaki City and learned with great interest about the differences between Thai and Japanese Buddhist cultures.

Through this project, the invited participants were able to learn advanced technology and experience Japanese culture, making it a very fulfilling program. In the future, further development of research exchange is expected.
