Q.What was your schedule from the time you arrived to the start of classes?
There were four days from arrival to the start of classes.On the day after I arrived, there was an orientation, where I received explanations on how to proceed with classes, school information, and facilities around the school.What I felt at that time was that even if you study abroad in a non-English speaking country, explanations for international students and documents that must be written are basically prepared in English, so I felt that it would be difficult without a certain level of English proficiency. On two of the four days, I had to do various procedures such as orientation and dormitory transfer, so I had only two days to prepare my surroundings.I wanted to prepare my living environment before classes started, so I spent the remaining two days at a large supermarket near the university to stock up on necessities such as Wi-Fi routers and laundry detergent.
Q.What was the most difficult part of the various procedures?
There were a number of difficult procedures I had to do before studying abroad, but the most difficult of all was applying for a visa.This was because I had to prepare while being pressed for a huge amount of documents and deadlines.Furthermore, since there is no Korean consulate in Aomori, I had to go to Sendai with all the documents I had prepared and apply.Applying for a visa requires effort, so we recommend that you prepare well in advance.
Another difficult thing was that I had to decide which classes to take and register for them before studying abroad.
