Q.How do you prepare before studying abroad?

The admission application process went smoothly, but the dormitory process was difficult.
In terms of financial issues, I had to pay for my studies abroad at my own expense, except for grants, so it was very difficult to save money for a part-time job.I think there are many people who give up studying abroad due to financial concerns, but I would like to say out loud that it is not impossible if you work hard.

Q.About the university where you will study abroad

At Mount Royal College, I only took ESL classes. After I arrived, there was a class placement test before classes started, and based on the results, I was placed in a class called Academic English Level 1.There were about 10 students in the class, and the teacher was bright and the atmosphere was very fun. Also, there are plenty of cafes and fast food restaurants on campus, and there is also a sports gym and a new large library, so I felt that it is a student-friendly university.

There is not much around the university, and the nearest supermarket is a 20-minute walk, which is a little inconvenient for dormitory students who need to cook for themselves. However, if I took a city bus and left the university for a while, I could go to the center of the city where large buildings were lined up, and I would go out for a change of pace on my days off.

Q.Where to stay

I stayed in a college dormitory.I chose a quadruple room, but unlike Japanese dormitories, each room has its own bedroom and a study desk, so I was able to secure my privacy. In addition, there is a simple questionnaire before deciding on the room assignment, and you can choose matters such as drinking and smoking, and whether you prefer a lively room or a quiet room.
