On September 29, 2026, we held a "Welcome Party for International Students."
This party is held every semester to help international students who will be starting their studies at Hirosaki University in October to deepen their interactions with Japanese students and faculty members at Hirosaki University, and to help them get off to a fun start to their study abroad life in Hirosaki.
Approximately 90 people participated on the day, including international students and students and faculty members from Hirosaki University.
In her opening remarks, Professor Suwa from the Department of International Education and Collaboration spoke about life in Hirosaki and her studies at the university, and delivered a message of hope and anticipation to the international students as they begin their new lives in a new environment.

Afterward, students from SIPS (Staff & Student Initiative for Promoting Study Abroad) led a mini-game as an icebreaker, where participants introduced themselves by placing stickers on a world map indicating their hometowns. Participants learned about each other's hometowns and deepened their interactions while having fun.
In his toast, Dario Muraka, a student studying in Japan from Italy, addressed the participants in Japanese, saying, "Let's study together in Hirosaki from now on."
During the social time, international students and Japanese students enjoyed Japanese sweets while engaging in lively conversations in various languages, creating a friendly and harmonious atmosphere.
To all of you who will be starting your studies at Hirosaki University, please enjoy your upcoming study abroad experience in Hirosaki!
