On the evening of August 22, 2026, the Kikyonomachi Association International Exchange Summer Festival was held on the grounds of the International Exchange Center, where international students and Japanese students live together.
This event is organized by the Kikyonocho Neighborhood Association and is held every year in late August with the aim of deepening exchanges between local residents and international students through a summer festival.
On that day, Professor Oyama of the Department of International Education and Collaboration gave a speech, expressing his gratitude for the understanding and cooperation that the local community has shown in international exchange with international students over the years.
Also, Simona Riparoti, representing the international students, gave a speech, expressing her love for the charm of Tsugaru and the warmth of the local people.
Afterwards, there were dances by kindergarten children, performances by a brass band, and Bon Odori (traditional Japanese dance), creating a lively atmosphere. Delicious food stalls were also set up, making it a fun time for local residents, international students, and Japanese students to deepen their interactions.
