[Study destination] University of Turin (Italy)
[Study abroad period] August 2023 to January 9.
[Type of study abroad] Long-term study abroad at a partner university

I am currently studying abroad at the University of Turin in Italy.

This time I would like to write about my trip to Venice.
11On the moon, in VeniceAldoA friend of mine lives there, so I went to see him. He is a student from Italy's Ca' Foscari University who will be coming to Hirosaki University to study in the first semester of this year.

Approximate distance from Turin to Venice400kmYes, on the train4It will take about an hour. Price is one wayIt was 40€. The good news is that the trains run from early in the morning.
I am 5 in the morning
I got on the train that left at the time, so10Sometimes we were able to reach Venice. I have to transfer once in Milan, from Turin to Milan to Venice, but the transfer time is short.5There were only minutes.

Milan Station is relatively large, so I had to hurry when moving from one platform to another, but when I asked the station staff which platform I should move to, they started making small talk, so I ran as fast as I could and just barely made it to the next one. I was on time for the train. Be careful with Italians who like to talk (lol)

The train I took at that time was similar to the Shinkansen in Japan. As you can see in the photo, the interior has a unique two-story structure, so it was fun to choose a seat.

It was so beautiful that it was called the Water City. At the time I went, the gondola fare was cheap.10MinuteIt was 100€ and I couldn't afford it so I didn't ride it. However, the sea can be seen from many parts of the city, so you can enjoy it just by walking.

When coming to Venice, be sure to check the weather forecast. Several times a year, a phenomenon called Aqua Alta occurs in which water floods streets and squares. When I went, it was partially flooded, and the water level wasn't that high, so it was okay, but I heard that there are times when it's so difficult that you have to wear rain boots.
