A short-term online exchange program for Taiwanese partner universities was held.

For five days from February 6th (Monday) to February 5th (Friday), 3, the Office for International Relations implemented a short-term online exchange program for our partner universities in Taiwan.Six students from Taiwan partner universities and five students from Hirosaki University participated in this program and learned about the Japanese language and culture by listening to three lectures: "About Tsugaru Lacquerware," "Rediscovering Japan through Language: Focusing on Regional Characteristics," and "Old Tsugaru Ko: Folktales Passed Down in the Tsugaru Region."

In the “Tsugaru-nuri” class, one student commented, “I thought it was wonderful that Tsugaru-nuri has been working on the SDGs for hundreds of years, and that things that would normally end up in the trash are being reused.” In the “Rediscovering Japan through words,” one student commented, “Mr. Kori’s class was easy for foreigners to understand. In addition, in the "Tsugaru no Mukashiko" class, one commented, "I was able to understand the contents of the story, even though I didn't fully understand the Tsugaru dialect, by not only using the words spoken by the narrator, but also using a lot of facial expressions and gestures."
