Our students attended Coffee Hour, an international exchange program sponsored by the Office for International Relations.

During the program period from December XNUMX to February XNUMX, XNUMX students from Hirosaki University exchanged opinions online on various themes with students from Hirosaki University's partner universities Auckland University of Technology (New Zealand), University of Irkutsk (Russia), An Giang University (Vietnam), Khon Kaen University (Thailand), and Kyungki University (Korea).

After the course, many students were good at not only English but also Japanese. When asked how they learned Japanese, they answered that they learned it from their favorite Japanese anime and manga. I found a new goal to go abroad when the coronavirus is over." The program ended on a high note.

One of the students who took the course said, "I didn't have a lot of time to talk with multiple participants, so it would have been better if I could have a one-on-one conversation or a small group conversation." Another said, "This program took place during the lunch break of the university, and it didn't affect my after-school schedule or exams, so it was easy to participate. Next time, if there is an opportunity to interact with students from other countries for a longer time, I would like to actively participate." We are planning to provide our students with opportunities to enjoy international exchange with students from our partner universities. If you are interested, please contact the International Relations Office. The official SNS of the Headquarters for International Relations also regularly posts new information.
