Thank you to everyone who is reading our study abroad news.
My name is Ryo Saito and I am studying at the University of Catania in Italy.

Catania faces the Mediterranean Sea and enjoys a warm climate all year round.Summer is said to be very hot, but it is also a Mediterranean climate.

I was planning to study abroad for 10 months from October 1st.A few days after arriving in the country, I had an Italian class guidance with the Erasmus students, where I had a test for placement and an explanation of the class. The result of the test divides the Italian class.Dates and times will vary depending on the class. The content of the class varies slightly depending on the class, but it is mainly a grammar class.
In my class, there was a quiz before each class to check the contents of the previous class.

I wanted to take classes in Italian, so in addition to the Italian classes, I also took the English classes that Italian students are taking. The class is conducted mainly in Italian, but the content was at the high school level, so I understood the content of the class.

Before class and when I was not in class, I basically studied for review and preparation in the learning space on the campus. It is recommended that you bring your favorite grammar book or vocabulary book from Japan.

In Catania, if you live in the center of the city, you can get most of the goods within walking distance.
I used to live near Catania central station. It was a 15 minute walk to the university and a 10 minute walk to Via Etna in the center of town. There is a large shopping mall about 15 minutes by bus, and there is a direct bus to the airport, which takes about XNUMX minutes.
So I think it's better to live in the center than in the suburbs.

At the University of Catania, there is something like a Japanese club called CUES.People who want to do sports can access here and exercise.

There are also many gyms in the city, and if you are a student at the University of Catania, the prices are slightly cheaper.I made an Italian friend by going to the gym.

When you hear about Italy, some people may worry about security, but as long as I lived there, I was able to live without any problems.
