On December 12th (Wednesday), in the lecture [History of Modern Literature in Tsugaru], we welcomed Mr. Sasakawa, who is a Tsugaru shamisen player, to learn.
In his lecture on the development of the Tsugaru-jamisen in the Hirosaki area, Professor Sasakawa interspersed his performances with classical melodies to convey the appeal of the Tsugaru-jamisen to the students.
On Dec 4th, Mr Sasakawa, a professional Tsugaru Shamisen player, visited the lecture room of students studying the modern cultural history of Tsugaru.
He interspersed his lecture regarding the development of the Tsugaru Shamisen in this region with lively performances of classic melodies, and allowed students to
try their hand at playing his instrument.
