The area around the university is full of churches, bakeries, cafes and bars for students to spend their break time.
In addition, location is very good because it is around ten minutes on foot to centro (center) of town.

The University of Catania is an old monastery that is still used as it is, so it is very beautiful, and sometimes tourists come to see the inside.
Most of the transportation in the city is by bus or on foot, but if you have a student ID card of the University of Catania, you can use the bus in the city for free.
