Tsugaru crafts (Mr. Sawada) to the Kawasaki Dyeing Factory!

On May 5th (Friday), we headed to the Kawasaki Dye Factory for a facility tour and hands-on learning in the class of Tsugaru Crafts (Mr. Sawada).
First, we received an explanation of the history of indigo dyeing, how indigo is produced, and the effects of indigo. After that, we made our own indigo-dyed handkerchiefs in various shapes, such as fireworks, clouds, and rubber bands.
After making it, we had indigo tea and saw the traditions of the old mansion, and had a very meaningful and fun time!

Next time is scheduled for June 6th (Fri) Hirosaki Tourist Hall.looking forward to!
