[Study abroad experience] Mr. Daishun Ogasawara, XNUMXrd year, Faculty of Humanities

[Destination] Dalian University of Technology (China)
[Study abroad period] March XNUMX to January XNUMX (XNUMX months)

Q.Why did you decide to study abroad in Dalian?

I wanted to work overseas in the future, so I decided to study abroad in China, where there are many overseas sales offices.Dalian has the world's second largest Dalian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and many expatriates work in a wide range of industries.I would like to interact with many working people there and make use of it in my future job hunting activities.

Q.How are classes and life going?

Classes are held Monday through Friday, with two one-and-a-half hour Chinese classes that start at 1:2 and end at 8:11.After the placement test, I entered the beginner class. There are many international students from Korea, Thailand, and Russia in the class, so you don't have to worry about making foreign friends.I lived in an international student dormitory on campus.A single room is 40 yuan per month, paid in advance for half a year at the beginning of the semester. It takes about 1 hour by bus to Dalian city, and about 900 minutes by taxi, so I went out almost every weekday and weekend.

Q.What was the most memorable place for you?

The Tibet Autonomous Region was the most memorable place I traveled during my study abroad period. On the way, we passed the highest station in the world with an altitude of more than 5000 meters, saw the majestic nature of the Tibetan Plateau, watched the stars in the dark sky at night, and ate in the dining car while watching the sunrise over the horizon. There are world heritage sites such as the Potala Palace, Namtso Lake, and Yamdrok Lake, and it is popular as a tourist destination.

Q.short message

Considering the improvement of language skills, it is said that it is better not to interact with Japanese people while studying abroad, but I think it is okay to actively interact with them.Every day there are unexpected difficulties at the study abroad destination.Even after returning to Japan, the relationship with the friends who shared the hardships will continue.By interacting with many people, you may be able to make new discoveries and meet people you can respect.I think studying abroad is not just about learning languages.
