International students come to Japan for the purpose of study and research, and are granted status of residence as international students.Therefore, in principle, you cannot work part-time while staying in Japan.
If you wish to engage in secondary activities in addition to your original activities as an international student, you must obtain permission from the Immigration Bureau to engage in activities other than that permitted under the status of residence previously granted.

If you engage in activities other than those permitted without this permission, you will be punished, so please be careful.
If an international student obtains permission to engage in activity other than that permitted under the status of residence previously granted, part-time work other than entertainment business or entertainment-related business is permitted within 28 hours per week.

Students who have obtained permission to engage in activity other than that permitted under the status of residence previously granted must present it to the International Affairs Office.
